The Chief Executive of Govanhill Housing Association will:
Provide leadership and vision for the Govanhill Group, taking responsibility for strategic direction, growth and development, and ensuring that we embrace further opportunities and challenges as they emerge
Ensure the organisation has excellent corporate governance structures and processes in place and that it fulfils its financial, statutory and regulatory responsibilities
Develop and deliver the Business Plans for both organisations and deliver and build on our strategic priorities
- Services – Deliver quality, value for money services that meet the varying needs and circumstances of our customers.
- Homes & Neighbourhoods – Provide quality homes and work with our partners to make Govanhill a safer, cleaner, greener place.
- Assets – Manage our assets well, spend our resources wisely, and plan ahead for decarbonisation of our housing.
- Communities – As the community anchor organisation for Govanhill, work with the community and with partners to strengthen our community and benefit local people.
- Leadership & Financial – Maintain good governance and a strong financial business plan, to ensure we have the capacity to achieve our objectives.
- Our People & Organisation – Ensure Govanhill Housing Association is an effective and efficient organisation and that our staff are well trained, valued and supported, and motivated to provide the best possible services to our customers.
Cultivate a positive organisation culture empowering staff to deliver excellent services and supporting staff to be the best they can be.
The ideal candidate will bring substantial experience operating at a senior level within a regulated organisation preferably and RSL. They will have significant leadership, networking and governance expertise along with a proven ability to foster partnerships and will be comfortable working in a multi stakeholder environment. They will be an excellent communicator with the ability to lead and motivate high performing teams. They will have a strong passion for improving the lives of our customers and the communities they live in. They will have high levels of political awareness and the ability to successfully network at all levels.
This role provides an excellent opportunity for candidates who have already experienced operating at CEO level and are seeking to work in a larger organisation or for someone ready to take the next step from a senior executive position.
Hours of work
The working week is 35 hours , flexi time and toil systems are in place and flexible working arrangements will be considered in line with statutory obligations.
We operate a hybrid working system and each department decides on the basis of business and service needs how many days and which days staff will work from home and from the office. This system works well and helps us deliver improved services to our customers.

25 working days holiday leave and 15 days general and public holidays (pro-rata) is available.
