Formed from a merger in 2013, Ayrshire College’s aim is to serve the people, communities and employers in Ayrshire.  The College plays a key role in helping to develop the economy in Ayrshire by ensuring that students develop the right skills and positive attitudes to support the local, regional and national workforce needs.

The College now seeks to recruit a Vice Principal, Strategy and Skills to lead the College’s strategic planning and monitoring functions in order to integrate all key corporate strategy and planning documents including the Strategic Plan, Regional Outcome Agreement and Curriculum Delivery Plan to ensure robust development and monitoring of strategic and corporate objectives across all College activities.

The role will also have the responsibility of executive leadership for a curriculum portfolio supporting a demand led curriculum, innovative and high quality learning and teaching and successful student outcomes.  In addition, the role will provide strategic leadership for a portfolio of services comprising of Widening Access, Quality Enhancement and Business Improvement, Industry Programmes and Marketing and PR in order to support the key functions of the College.

Degree qualified with a track record of strong leadership, the successful candidate will have excellent knowledge of Scottish Government policy and strategy on Education, Scottish Funding Council’s approach to funding policy and implementation as well as knowledge of Education Scotland’s Quality framework.   You will have senior experience and a record of successful delivery in a strategic planning, public policy development or business improvement environment.  An ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with key partners as well as influencing will be essential.
