Strategic Communications and Public Affairs Manager
Salary: £56,566 – £60,077
Location: Office and home based

Do you want to work for a charity that gives you the platform to do amazing things? If you have experience and a strong track record in the planning and delivery of an effective communications strategy and leading on public affairs to support organisations on an ambitious journey, then we would love to hear from you.

We are looking for someone with a track record of success in strategic communications, ideally across a range of activities relating to our business areas, delivering improvements in stakeholder relations within a public sector and customer-facing environment.

OneRen is the charitable trust providing cultural, leisure and sporting opportunities to help people enjoy active and healthy lives in Renfrewshire. We are passionate about the part we play in improving life-long physical and mental health in every one of our communities. We provide a range of affordable, accessible, and engaging services that are open to all.

We are proud to be delivering a number of sector leading programmes. And as well as supporting the economic regeneration and civic renewal of Renfrewshire, we are developing a cultural portfolio to raise the profile of Paisley and Renfrewshire as a national and international cultural tourism destination.

This role is critical to take OneRen on the next stage of our development to deliver our objectives, particularly as we continue to recover from the pandemic and prepare for additional services following significant investment.

This is a truly exciting time for us to bring on board the role of Strategic Communications and Public Affairs Manager. The role is the perfect opportunity for a strong communicator who is able to build networks and effective comms channels both internally and externally, drawing on their existing contacts, someone who is highly skilled in managing relationships and the varied expectations of multiple partners, with a deep understanding of the public sector environment.  You will need to be self-motivated and lead the development and delivery of our communications and public affairs strategy to support our strategic objectives and ambitious targets. The post holder will report directly to the Chief Executive as part of a new leadership team and must be ready to hit the ground running to deliver from day one.

This is a new role for OneRen which gives the role holder the opportunity to shape both internal and external comms. This role will have a reach across the entire business, must work across all services, supporting and further enhancing the fantastic work our services already have in place, driving improvements in perception and understanding of our charity.
