Aspen People are delighted to be working together with Glasgow School of Art to appoint a new Secretary and Registrar. This role will support the needs of the Chair and includes leadership of the governance office. As Clerk to the Board of Governors, the post holder will ensure all matters related to the good governance are compliant and compatible with the ethos and values of the School. This role will also support the Director in operationalising the School Strategy and engage with stakeholders to translate academic strategy and policy into effective delivery.
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable record of senior board advisement on governance and regulatory matters. They will also have extensive leadership and management experience with an ability to lead and influence effectively, demonstrating credibility. A broad understanding of legislation relating to Data Protection, Freedom of Information, and UKVI immigration rules is also required.
