Salary: Grade H: £42,723 – £48,666

VisitScotland is the national tourism organisation for Scotland. VisitScotland works closely with the tourism industry in Scotland to promote the wealth of incredible features Scotland has to offer.

The Destination Development Team has a unique role to play in influencing how the visitor economy plays its part in the growth of strong regional economies and makes a significant contribution to the responsible tourism ambition of Scotland. The Regional Director for the Glasgow City Region role makes a significant contribution to delivery national strategies and key elements of VisitScotland’s Strategic Framework. The postholder will work to ensure tourism is front and centre in plans across the Glasgow region, creating a positive and supportive climate for the tourism industry and informing and shaping major investments in the visitor economy. This can only be achieved by working effectively and efficiently with a wide range of partners and stakeholders, such as local authorities, enterprise agencies, destinations, sectoral and industry associations and key businesses.

We are looking for candidates with significant experience in senior partnership management roles, working with and influencing senior officers in public and private sector. A track record of successful delivery of outcomes from collaborative working and developing ideas, seeking and managing input from multiple partners will be required. A background in tourism or marketing is not essential.
