Non-Executive Director

An unparalleled opportunity to join the board of Scotland’s only listed housebuilder

Delivering quality homes across Scotland through six well-established and respected brands, the Springfield Group is a leader in the housebuilding industry, committed to improving communities across Scotland through first-class homes. Listed on the AIM in 2017, the Springfield Group has gone from strength to strength, and we are privileged to work in partnership with them to appoint a new Non-Executive Director to their PLC Board.

The Springfield Group is comprised of Springfield Properties, Springfield Partnerships, Dawn Homes, Walker Group, Tulloch Homes and Mactaggart & Mickel Homes. In addition, the Group includes two timber kit factories and Glassgreen Hire, specialising in the provision of Plant and Transport services.  One of largest housebuilders in Scotland, Springfield operates across the country to deliver the highest quality homes with a focus on energy efficiency, choice and outstanding customer service.

The Board are delighted to welcome a new Non-Executive Director to join in giving strategic direction to the Group. The incoming Non-Executive Director will embrace the values of the Springfield Group and act as an ambassador to the Company, in addition to giving time to the practical commitments of a Plc Board member. The Board will be critical in guiding the Company through the current market and in making the preparations necessary for a prosperous future.

Candidates must have ample availability to carry out the role, with time demand at a minimum of 15 days per annum, including at least 7 Board meetings and ideally involvement in the Audit and Remuneration committees. With offices in Larbert, Glasgow, Elgin and Inverness, candidates will be required to attend meetings throughout Scotland, and must be able to accommodate ad-hoc meetings on occasion.

Ideal candidates will have significant board experience, preferably on Plc boards, but where other experience is strong this is not a requirement. The ideal candidate will have strong financial knowledge, preferably a Chartered Accountant, and experience driving growth in a challenging environment. HR experience would also be desirable, as would an understanding of the public policy landscape and the housing market. Housebuilding and construction experience are not necessary for applicants.
