Head of Procurement
Castle Water
Blairgowrie/Hybrid
circa £60k
Are you ready to redefine the future of procurement in a leading-edge water utility company? Castle Water, the UK’s largest independent business water retailer, is on the lookout for a dynamic individual to take the reins as our Head of Procurement.
Since our inception in 2014, Castle Water has been committed to delivering exceptional water services at the best possible price. We are licensed by Ofwat and The Water Industry Commission for Scotland, allowing us the independence to provide water and wastewater services to businesses, charities, and public bodies across England and Scotland. As we continue to grow, turning over c£450m in FY24, with a cost base excluding sales of £25m, our focus remains on delivering award-winning customer service while maintaining our position at the forefront of the UK water market.
As the Head of Procurement, you will play a pivotal role in steering Castle Water through a phase of significant growth and efficiency enhancement. You’ll need to have strong operational competencies to partner with a strategic outlook, and be a self-starter who can get things done. Reporting directly to the CFO, you’ll be the driving force behind negotiating with suppliers, optimising IT expenditure, and managing substantial contracts. This isn’t just a job; it’s a chance to make a lasting impact in a dynamic and expansive role.
What We’re Looking For:
• Negotiation Mastery: Proven experience in negotiating with suppliers, especially in the IT sector.
• Operational Excellence: Ability to deliver the day-to-day of procurement management across the business
• Independent Operator: Thrive in a standalone role, making decisions that shape the future of procurement.
• Innovative Approach: Explore new sourcing opportunities and partnerships to enhance cost-effectiveness.
• Contract Management: Oversee contracts in customer service, ensuring renewals are timely and cost-effective.
Based in Blairgowrie, we value your presence in the office, aiming for three days a week onsite. With a preference for candidates with a reasonable commute to Blairgowrie, we offer a flexible and vibrant working environment designed to best support you in the role.
