We’re looking for an experienced senior manager who is politically aware with a proven track record of high achievement and a commitment to leading-edge practice.  You will work with the Director of Education and senior leaders in schools and the department to keep us moving forward and enhance our reputation for continually raising the bar through innovation and creativity.

You will be experienced in and knowledgeable about current developments in education and passionate about ensuring our learners have the highest quality experiences.  Working with partners inside and outside the Council will be second nature to you as will the ability to remain calm under pressure and to encourage that in those around you. 

You will be passionate about securing equality and inclusion, developing prevention and early intervention strategies to ensure we get it right for every child in our schools and centres, driven to ensure we support and involve adults, parents, families and communities in learning and that our young people are prepared to leave school and for the world of work. 

You will be a strategic, forward-thinking leader with impressive credentials:

  • A degree level qualification and considerable achievements in the field of education
  • Experienced in developing and implementing policies and strategic initiatives, including leadership through change
  • A track record in having an impact and delivering positive outcomes for all
  • Skilled in building relationships and partnerships
  • Commitment to leading-edge practice
