This position is now closed to applications.

Viewpoint is Scotland’s oldest housing association and is unique in that it has both care homes and sheltered housing for older people in Edinburgh, the Lothians and Fife. It all started back in 1947 and their goals are the same today as they have always been – to improve the quality of life and wellbeing of their tenants and residents by encouraging independence, enabling choice and offering peace of mind in a safe and supported environment.

VHA’s continued strong financial performance provides the platform on which they will invest in homes that are fit for the future as well as developing and improving their customer services. They put their customers at the heart of what they do and create a culture of continuous improvement in the services they deliver.

Viewpoint is at an exciting time in their 70 year history as the new CEO undertakes a review of the Association’s strategic vision, the organisation design that will support them to achieve their vision and how the whole organisation, both staff and customers, can have a voice in the future direction.

To help facilitate this change, VHA is expanding the Business Support function and has established the need to create this brand new post. The new Head of Business Support will take responsibility for leading and developing the Business Support Team, which includes Governance, ICT, HR and L&D, and Business Performance. As a member of the Corporate Leadership Team, you will have joint responsibility for the delivery and implementation of VHA’s Business Plan and in particular, the strategic objectives for the Business Support function. You will also assist with the role of Company Secretary (as required by the Director of Business Support) and will provide support to the Board and all Sub-Committees as necessary.

The appointed candidate will be a values driven individual who takes a collaborative approach to work. You will have experience of working in a similar position and have sound knowledge of governance, GDPR and data protection. Ideally, you will have a background in HR and IT with strong project management experience, from inception to completion. A highly motivated, strategic thinker with a can do attitude and excellent communication skills will do well in this role.

Viewpoint’s long history and heritage makes it one of the most respected housing associations and care providers in the country. This role will be based in the Edinburgh office, with the scenic backdrop of Blackford Hill.
