Are you an experienced financial professional seeking an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the growth and success of subsidiary companies within a dynamic organisation? We are currently looking for a skilled Group Accountant to join our client Grampian Housing Association.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Oversee the financial aspects of subsidiary companies, including preparation of accounts, annual audits, budgets, financial projections, and various reporting activities.
- Business Partnership: Act as a business partner for the Group, providing high-quality financial support, advice, and management to ensure the commercial success of subsidiary companies.
- Strategic Planning: Prepare financial projections and contribute to the development and updates of subsidiary business plans.
- Board Engagement: Attend subsidiary board meetings, present reports, provide expert advice, and effectively manage financial requests from the Boards.
- Treasury Management: Assist in treasury management tasks, including regular liquidity reviews, projections, and cash monitoring.
- New Development Programme: Manage and oversee the financial aspects of the new development programme, including financial appraisals and project evaluation.
- Audit Preparation: Collaborate with the Finance Manager to prepare for the group annual audit and handle other relevant tasks.
- Payroll Management: Take responsibility for payroll management and authorisation.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement, facilitate change, and drive efficiencies across the organisation.
- Expert Support: Provide expert and technical support or advice across the group, addressing queries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Performance Management: Monitor and manage the performance and development of assigned areas through one-to-one meetings, annual appraisals, and support.
- Representation: Represent the Finance team by participating in meetings to understand and address the needs of operational teams and customers.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure the preparation of quarterly and annual returns, maintaining effective working relationships within the Group, and providing cover for finance colleagues as needed.
- IT Leadership: Lead on IT system upgrades and process changes, providing training and user guides as required.
- Policy Adherence: Carry out all duties in accordance with relevant Group policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Extensive experience in financial management, with a focus on subsidiary companies.
- Proven expertise in preparing financial reports, budgets, and projections.
- Strong analytical and strategic planning skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Previous experience in treasury management and payroll.
- Demonstrated ability to lead IT system upgrades and process changes.
- Knowledge of relevant Group policies and procedures.
