From a start-up company two years ago, Castle Water is now the UK’s largest independent water retailer. Whilst revenues are forecast to be greater than most FTSE 250 companies, with further significant growth anticipated as deregulation and increased competition takes place in the English marketplace, Castle Water remains true to its roots in Blairgowrie, Perthshire.

The finance function is core to the funding and management of this spectacular growth and has quadrupled in size during the last 7 months with further growth planned.

The Financial Controller role has arisen directly as a direct result of the growth in the business and in the funding contracts which are required to support this growth. As a result, we are looking for highly motivated and driven individuals, who embrace and encourage rapid change and challenge the status quo.

The role will provide accurate, timely and efficient reporting to the Group CFO of financial performance across the company’s division as well as working with commercial teams to understand forecasts, budgets and progress against expected plans. The Financial Controller will review existing controls and propose changes to improve these.

The successful candidate will be a qualified chartered accountant with a degree in a numerate subject. You will have experience of working in a business services, financial services or utility supply setting and be able to demonstrate the core capabilities in control, processes and reporting. Working closely with Divisional Managing Directors, you will be able to perform well under pressure and have a personal commitment to working to high ethical standards. Experience of working in a company or business division with at least c£500 million revenue would be desirable.

As this role is based in Blairgowrie you should ideally live in commuting distance or be prepared to relocate. A relocation package available.
