The SLCC are seeking a dynamic and motivational leader to join their small senior management team. This is a great opportunity to make real impact and bring strategic leadership to issues of national importance.

The SLCC is an independent statutory body providing a single point of contact for all complaints about Scottish lawyers. Operating independently of the legal profession and government, the SLCC aims to resolve complaints early and efficiently, improving complaints handling across the profession with the ultimate aim of improving trust and confidence in Scottish legal services.

The Director of Public Policy will be responsible for ensuring the SLCC has a deep understanding of their consumers, their external environment and stakeholders. You will ensure that they learn from their data and from best practice, that they communicate effectively, and that they strategically influence the sector and policy makers.  With legislative reform on the agenda, you will be at the heart of policy design which may impact regulation across the sector and for decades to come.

The role has responsibility for policy, communications, stakeholder management, publications, outreach, and statutory ‘oversight’ functions. The SLCC are seeking enthusiastic people with the confidence to manage change whilst bringing colleagues with you and demonstrating genuine commitment to their five values.
