Sight Scotland & Sight Scotland Veterans are Scotland’s charities that supports people who are visually impaired or have sight loss. They provide a range of services including education, rehabilitation, and assistive technology to help people live independently and participate fully in society. Sight Scotland & Sight Scotland Veterans have a mission to TRANSFORM outcomes for people with sight loss, UNITE partners and communities to support more people and to THRIVE and care for the people they support and work with. The values and purpose of the organisation are crucial threads in making sure that non-one should face sight loss alone.

For 230 years, Sight Scotland & Sight Scotland Veterans has been supporting people impacted by vision loss with a substantial reach across Scotland, working for all ages of society.

Sight Scotland & Sight Scotland Veterans play an important role in continually shifting the conversation around sight loss, and contributing to achieving a fair, equitable society. Their services reflect the times we live in and meet the changing needs of the people we support.

Alongside an exciting new strategy development, the organisation is going through an internal restructure. As a result, Aspen People are recruiting for 3 key roles within the organisation:

  • Director of Operations
  • Director of Finance
  • Director of Technology

Director of Finance

The Director of Finance is responsible for the strategic planning and financial management of Sight Scotland & Sight Scotland Veterans including procurement, budgeting, and investment management. As well as finance, this role also leads the Facilities and Estates team with responsibility for their Health & Safety policies and procedures. Providing financial sustainability for the organisation, the Director will build and develop an engaging team environment and provide a financial backbone to the senior leadership team.

You will be a senior financial professional with a recognised accountancy qualification. You should be experienced at leading finance functions and teams at a senior level and be able to demonstrate business acumen and commercial judgement. We’re looking for someone with the ability to assimilate and analyse information in a coherent and efficient way, so that they can make recommendations and communicate across all levels of the organisation.

Sight Scotland & Sight Scotland Veterans are seeking senior leaders that share a passion for transforming, uniting, and thriving for the needs of Scotland’s 180,000 visually impaired individuals. Applications should strongly evidence how the values and frameworks fit with the applicant.
