SRUC’s principal purpose is to advance education, science, research and environmental protection and improvement in the rural and land-based industries, both domestically and internationally. The commercial consultancy, skills training and research activities are undertaken through SAC Commercial Limited.

We are pleased to announce that we are continuing our partnership with SRUC to appoint a new Finance Director. As a member of the Executive Management Team, the Finance Director will provide sound advice to the Principal & CEO, the Board and other Senior Management colleagues, as well as ensuring an effective service is provided to the wider organisation. The role will provide the overall strategic leadership and management oversight for all aspects of finance across the organisation, and has overall control and responsibility for all financial aspects of SRUC’s strategy in order to optimise the organisation’s financial performance and strategic position.

The role involves a diverse range of strategic accountabilities and we are therefore seeking an individual with proven relevant experience in a role with strategic finance responsibility, working at Board level, and a successful track record of supporting strategic change through the development of effective financial planning and strategies. It would be beneficial to hold a qualification at MSc/MBA level together with sound knowledge of both the agriculture and rural sector and education and research funding.
