Fife Housing Group is one of the largest independent housing associations in Scotland with more than 2500 properties in Fife and an annual turnover of over £11 million. We employ 63 colleagues, currently based in our offices in Dunfermline and Lochgelly, and are committed to building the foundations of an excellent business for the benefits of our tenants and other customers. As a major provider of homes to those in greatest housing need, we play an increasingly important part in helping Fife residents lead the lives they want to lead.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, as a member of the Business Leadership Team (BLT), this post is responsible for the governance, risk management and financial capacity of the Group to enable delivery of a high quality tenant and customer focused, comprehensive and value for money service in accordance with the Group’s values, aims, policies and procedures. The Director of Finance and Governance will strive to maximise our potential and provide leadership to the Finance and Governance Department and ensure effective delivery of high quality services.

As well as several years experience working in financial roles, including the production of financial statements to SORP requirements and the management of large budgets / operations within tight financial circumstances, the successful candidate will be strategic, innovative, highly motivated and goal orientated with comprehensive people management experience and demonstrable project management experience. You should have a successful track record of developing key targets in the area of planning and performance management as well as previous involvement with company business plans and strategies. Whilst not essential, an appreciation of the political context and the framework for housing policy would be advantageous, as would knowledge of charity law and voluntary sector regulations.
