Crown Estate Scotland is a new Scottish Public Corporation – a commercial public body – set up in 2017 to manage the Scottish Crown Estate and generate lasting value for Scotland. Their approach is shaped by their values of Collaboration, Excellence, Integrity and Commercialism.

Through commercial and sustainable management of land, property and natural assets they raise and reinvest capital, fund their activity and work with their tenants to generate public benefits, including revenue for the Scottish Government. They are currently preparing for a significant investment programme aiming to commit to £70m of new investment over the next three years.

As a member of the Executive Team, the Director of Finance and Business Services will provide senior leadership including with the Board and its Audit & Risk and Investment Committees. You will oversee all aspects of financial management, ensuring the proper operation of financial controls and systems, and build an internal capability to manage the investment process. You will also be responsible for the development and provision of IT infrastructure and services including procurement, and business support and office services.

You will have the ability to contribute to strategic decision making, risk management and change management, together with experience of leading, managing and developing people. The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with experience of budgeting, financial management and accounting; you will also have experience of overseeing IT systems. Excellent written, verbal and financial communication skills will be key to enable you to work with the board and a wide range of stakeholders including Scottish Government, banks, external consultants and service providers.
