The Robertson Trust aims to improve the quality of life and realise the potential of people and communities in Scotland, inspired by the example of its founders, the Robertson Sisters. Every year, it funds and supports charitable organisations of all sizes, committed to achieving positive change for individuals and communities across Scotland. Today, it is the largest independent grant-making trust in Scotland, having in total given more than £150 million to charities.

The Robertson Trust is now looking to recruit two Committee Members for their Development Committee which is responsible for reviewing and monitoring existing development programmes as well as recommending new ones.

The role of the Development Committee is to:

  • Support and advise the Development team on the implementation of its Operational Plan
  • Monitor progress of existing programmes
  • Discuss new project applications and future programme developments
  • Discuss external evaluations and dissemination requirements
  • Provide a safe space to debate external issues alongside identification of potential new themes


The Development Committee meets for half a day at least 4 times a year with requirement for occasional additional visits, events and meetings. The duties will be carried out on a voluntary basis. The Trust will reimburse travel expenses incurred to attend Committee meetings on request.
