Viewpoint is Scotland’s oldest housing association and is unique in that it has both care homes and sheltered housing. Viewpoint’s focus is to Create Joy in Later Years by managing a range of supported housing and care services for older people in Edinburgh, the Lothians and Fife. It all started back in 1947 and their goals are the same today as they’ve always been – to improve the quality of life and wellbeing of their tenants and residents by encouraging independence, enabling choice and offering peace of mind in a safe and supported environment.

Viewpoint is now looking for a new Chief Executive who will provide strategic leadership and direction to the organisation and staff. The new leader will work closely with Viewpoint’s Board to develop strategy and deliver improvements and efficiencies, whilst ensuring customers remain at the forefront of each business decision. This role will provide a platform for influencing change and innovation within the care and housing sector; strengthening the link between the two service areas is vital. Creating positive change and developing the services will greatly impact the lives of many, including the friends and family of Viewpoint customers.

The successful candidate will embrace the mission of Creating Joy in Later Years, and hold a passion for improving care and housing services. The appointed candidate will inspire, innovate and evidence an excellent track record of leading and managing people. Experience of working with a range of key stakeholders, including the board, to ensure delivery of excellent service as well as maximising the use of assets and supporting growth.

This is a key appointment within housing and care in Scotland – Viewpoint’s long history and heritage makes it one of the most respected housing associations and care providers in the country. This role will be based in the Edinburgh office, with the scenic backdrop of Blackford Hill.
