Aspen People are delighted to be working with Scottish Bakers to recruit and appoint an exceptional candidate as their Chief Executive Officer.  The organisation was established in 1891 and since then it has represented and promoted the interests of the bakery trade in Scotland. Scottish Bakers aims to be an integral part of each member’s business operation by providing a range of specialist support services for Bakers of all sizes and provides a training arm, National Food and Drink Training (NFDT) with a team of Training Advisors to support training delivery in Scotland, England and Northern Ireland.  NFDT has developed considerable experience in the delivery of work-based learning and developed a range of learning support material to provide much needed underpinning knowledge and is currently developing an on-line food and drink training academy.

The Role

Working closely with the board, the CEO will develop the organisation’s long-term strategy, budget and business plan. Acting as an ambassador, you will proactively enhance the reach and profile of the organisation and provide the public face for industry events, campaigns and build relationships with stakeholders in politics, the media and business.

You will bring leadership excellence, with the skills to shape and establish a fresh and ambitious direction for the organisation within the industry, in line with the wishes and expectations of the members.

Therefore, we are looking for an individual with integrity, charisma, creativity and drive who can grasp this opportunity to make a real and tangible difference.  The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of commercial acumen and associated communication, negotiation and presentation skills and have a “hands on” success orientated approach to business.

The successful candidate will be an appropriately qualified and experienced professional business manager with proven commercial skills, currently operating at or near CEO level in a ‘Skills Training’ or similar environment.
