Search for IoD Scotland Chair

After three years developing under the leadership of Professor Susan Deacon, the IoD in Scotland is looking for a new chair to succeed her and to continue growing the organisation’s profile and success.

The post is high profile and requires someone special who, amongst other strong leadership and influencing skills, can handle the media as well as demonstrating an understanding of Scotland, its politics and its business and civic communities.

The new chair person will take over in June and will lead the substantial band of volunteers who make the organisation function all over Scotland, acting as the Chair of the Scotland Advisory Board, as well as being a key public figurehead for the organisation.

Once appointed they will work with the Director and the small staff team in Scotland, and with UK colleagues, to increase the reach and impact of the IoD, particularly in areas of membership growth and director development.

Applicants should send their CV and a covering letter to David Watt, the Executive Director in Scotland, by e-mail to david.watt@iod.com by the 4th May. Interviews will be held later in May and an appointment will be confirmed at the IoD Board meeting in June.

Should you wish to discuss any further details of this appointment then please call Donogh O’Brien on 0141 212 7555 / 07795 812 574 or David Watt on 0131 557 5488.
