Includem is a charity which provides one to one relationship based support to young people and their families/carers.  At the heart of what Includem does is a strong belief that no young person is beyond help.  Includem is headquartered in Glasgow with regional offices in Aberdeen, Dundee, Fife and Stirling. Since our formation in 2000 we have worked with more than 5000 young people aged 5-25, helping to improve their lives, and the lives of their families and carers.  We employ more than 120 staff all of whom are passionate and committed to making a difference to the lives of the young people and families which they support.

Includem are now looking to recruit a Chair who will support the Chief Executive and the organisation to meet its charitable and strategic objectives. The successful candidate will possess the following skills:

  • Previous Board experience
  • Experience in an organisation undergoing strategic change
  • Ability to act in an ambassadorial capacity
  • Experience from any sector where medium to long term contracts are important to how services are delivered would be advantageous but is not essential
  • Charity experience is desirable but not essential

The ideal candidate will be able to devote an appropriate amount of time to the role and ideally have experience of working within a regulated environment. There will be a requirement of regular contact with the Chief Executive, attendance at a minimum of 4 board meetings per year, plus attendance at annual Strategy Reviews and other internal/external events.
