Age Scotland, the national charity for older people, works tirelessly to help improve the lives of everyone over the age of 50. Our vision is a Scotland that is the best place in the world to grow older and for us all to live the very best life we can in ‘later life’. We are dedicated to inspiring, advising, involving and engaging older people, and influencing all those whose decision-making impacts on the lives of older people. Age Scotland works in partnership with Age UK, based in London, although we are an independent charity with our own Board and executive team responsible for our work in Scotland.

The Charity wishes to appoint an exceptional leader as its next CEO, a confident and experienced person who is visible, impactful and outcome focussed and who is as comfortable working with a highly experienced Executive and Board as they are interacting with and serving the interests of the most important of our stakeholders, our older population in Scotland. Therefore, the candidate must be able to demonstrate at least 5 years senior experience at CEO or Executive leadership level and, ideally, have awareness of the devolved government responsibilities, with, ideally, an understanding of government and statutory structures either in Scotland, the rest of the UK or both. Most importantly, you will have the capability to effectively represent Age Scotland to a range of key stakeholders.

We seek to appoint a CEO who will assess and prioritise the opportunities to develop and innovate and allow us to serve more of our older people in Scotland. This inspirational leader will develop and support the excellent capability and capacity in our team and our Charity while operating with our values very much front and centre.
