The Assistant Finance Manager position sits in a small but integral team for the Scottish Refugee Council with responsibility for assisting senior staff in the daily management of the Finance Department, producing, and developing financial reports and monitor delivery. The role is responsible for the supervision and development of the Finance Administrator.

Alongside this, the position gives a unique opportunity to a developing leader within the finance function who can progress through various training and development opportunities whilst also supporting the vital work of the Scottish Refugee Council.

The position plays a key role in supporting the Finance Department and organisation through a period of growth in the scope and scale of the work, in response to humanitarian crises and the external demands they face as the lead Scottish agency for refugees in a fast-changing policy landscape.

The ideal candidate?

We’re looking for candidates with the aptitude and skills of an emerging leader who want to work with a value-focused organisation to develop themselves. You’ll have a desire to nurture and develop existing financial abilities, continue your learning and improvement, be an effective communicator, and have the ability to inspire and motivate others you work. You will be vision orientated but also adaptable and resilient in the face of challenges, which allows you to navigate complex situations with ease.

Technically, you will have experience of either being a qualified or part qualified accountant with knowledge of financial matters and working with budget holders. You’ll be able to manage multiple projects to various deadlines and be a competent user of financial systems and bookkeeping. If you have previous experience of the voluntary sector, this would be advantageous.

This role provides a package of up to £37,635, 39 days holiday (including public holidays), enhanced pension scheme of up to 9.6% and various flexible working options and development opportunities.
