Professor of Interprofessional Education

The Role

The postholder will be expected to make a substantial and positive contribution to the strategic direction of the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biosciences through leading and contributing to high-quality teaching, internationally competitive research, and by providing leadership to colleagues in the area of interprofessional education.

 

Main Responsibilities:

Lead educational excellence and shape the future of veterinary and biosciences teaching.

This senior academic role provides strategic and operational leadership across teaching, learning and academic development within the School. You will lead interprofessional education initiatives, oversee academic staff and resources, drive innovation in teaching and assessment, mentor early-career academics, ensure compliance with professional standards, and represent the institution nationally and internationally. You will contribute to institutional academic leadership, advance student success, and champion high-quality, future-focused education.

 

About you:

An inspiring academic leader with a passion for teaching, innovation and student success.

You will hold MRCVS registration or a doctorate in a relevant discipline, with a strong reputation in teaching and/or pedagogical research. You will demonstrate proven ability to lead academic teams, manage resources, design innovative learning and assessment approaches, and communicate effectively across diverse audiences. Experience in mentoring, academic leadership and student-centred education is essential.

Suitable applicants may also be considered for progression to Deputy Head of School (Education), a role that requires experience in educational leadership within higher or further education, along with knowledge of quality assurance and accreditation processes.

A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion is essential. The role involves travel between sites and occasional national and international travel.
