The College is seeking to appoint an experienced senior manager with Business and Partnership engagement along with revenue generation expertise and a proven track record in achieving business growth and diversification against a background of public sector funding cuts.

As a member of the College’s Senior Management Team (SMT), the Director of Partnerships and Income Generation will have an important part to play in not just the day-to-day operations of the College, but also in the future prosperity of the institution in the years to come.

The successful candidate will be charged with untapping the full potential of Edinburgh College – working to grow and diversify income streams by expanding their international, commercial and innovation activities. They will also hold a relevant Professional Qualification and extensive experience related to the role with evidence of CPD, including management/leadership development activities.

You will be asked to work closely with the College’s sector-leading curriculum teams to identify, develop and exploit business opportunities, in addition to collaborating with local businesses and stakeholders to seek out further opportunities for revenue growth.

As you’d expect for someone in this role, we are looking for an individual who is able to build and develop relationships – forming strong bonds with colleagues and stakeholders alike to better understand their work.

You will also need to take people with them in their work – not only the international and commercial teams who will work under them, but the other members of Senior Management Team who you’ll need to work with collaboratively to have the greatest impact. You will need to be an excellent problem solver with exceptional financial and data skills, and an understanding of the key issues and challenges relevant to the portfolio. You will also need to be an engaging leader and confident presenter to the relevant Board committee, someone who leads by example in line with our values and takes pride in students’ development.

As a member of the leadership team here, you will also have the opportunity to influence the direction of Scotland’s largest College. You will have a vital part to play as the College works to remain at the forefront of the sector as it reshapes it’s offering for the current funding landscape and provides first-class training and teaching tailored to Scotland’s emerging industries.
