Welcome
I’m delighted that you’re interested in applying for the post of Chief Executive within West of Scotland Housing Association Group.
West of Scotland Housing Association (WSHA) has been providing homes and delivering housing and community services to our communities for nearly 60 years. We put customers at the heart of everything we do. We do this by listening to their views and caring about what matters to them.
We are a forward thinking, innovative and dynamic housing association that is well governed and financially strong and one that never forgets that we are there to meet the needs and preferences of our communities and customers.
We have a very positive and constructive relationship with our key stakeholders which puts us in a strong position to grow and develop the assets and business activities of the Group.
Our Board of Management provides very strong and robust support of the CEO and Management Team. They have a wide range of skills and experience that helps ensure that decision making is effective across the WSHA Group.
The parent body of the Group, West of Scotland Housing Association, employs 88 staff, a turnover of £27m and is landlord to around 4,300 tenanted homes across Glasgow, Lanarkshire and Ayrshire. We have a new build and acquisition programme that aims to provide another 220 homes over the next 4 years.
Our charitable subsidiary Willowacre Trust employs 26 staff to deliver a wide range of tenancy and support services to the tenants of the Housing Association. In the last few years it has secured around £1/2m in external funding per annum.
Through our commercial subsidiary, Westscot Living (WL), we provide factoring services to around 1200 owned homes across the West of Scotland and WL is also the landlord to 144 new Mid Market Rent homes.
Our Chief Executive Officer will ensure that we deliver on our strategic aims and operational objectives but they will do so in a way that ensures we take all our colleagues and stakeholders with us on that journey through effective communication and involvement in our decision making.
Feedback from our Board, tenants and staff has helped us to identify some of the key skills and experience the ideal candidate will have. This includes, being an experienced, innovative and inspirational leader who is open and honest with a high degree of integrity and is an excellent communicator who takes an inclusive approach to change management.
West of Scotland HA is a fantastic organisation with an excellent reputation in the sector. We believe this will be a really attractive post for those who wish to lead a financially strong and robust organisation that can make a real positive difference to the lives of its customers and communities.
