National Leadership Development Programme

Welcome

Introduction from Janice Gibson, Associate Director

Dear Applicant

I welcome your interest in joining NHS Education for Scotland (NES) – an ambitious, collaborative and forward-thinking organisation.

NHS Education for Scotland is a national health board which promotes best practice in the education and lifelong learning of all Healthcare, social work and social care staff in Scotland, including management and executive level team members. The mission of NES is to contribute to the highest quality of health & social care throughout Scotland, ensuring the 350,000 people working in health and social care roles are well trained and are continually developed through each stage of their career.

You will be joining the organisation at an exciting time.  NES is the key delivery partner for the new National Leadership Development Programme (NLDP).  This programme is being developed to create empowering, inspirational leaders who understand that people are our strongest asset for delivering positive change. The programme will focus on the development of leaders at all levels, the identification of talent, leadership succession planning, and support current senior leaders in their own development needs. This programme will work across the entire health, social work and social care workforce of Scotland.

As a member of my expanding team you will have the opportunity to be part of something exciting with positive impact and reach for leaders at all levels across health and social care. If you have the drive and passion for developing our current and future leaders then I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely

Janice Gibson
Associate Director for Organisation Development, Leadership and Learning
