Welcome
Seamab provides sector-leading residential care and education to some of Scotland’s most vulnerable children aged between 5 and 18 years who have been removed from their families for their own safety.
Based in Kinross, we provide care for and educate up to 25 children and young people. These children have been subjected to significant neglect, physical, emotional and/or sexual abuse. By the time they arrive at Seamab a number of care and educational placements have been tried and will have failed. At this point the specialist experience and skills provided at Seamab are required.
Seamab is regulated by both the Care Inspectorate and by Education Scotland in school. In order to continue to deliver a high-quality service we are recruiting Trustees to ensure a planned succession of long-serving Trustees. We are seeking Trustees who can bring strength, expertise and engagement to our Board. We are seeking people with appropriate experience, knowledge and commitment as well as the drive and energy required to be part of supporting Seamab’s future. We have a duty at Seamab to support some of Scotland’s most vulnerable people and to be part of that commitment is hugely rewarding.
The timing of new Trustees joining us could not be more important as we are currently planning, and fundraising for, the development of a new school as well as expanding our provision of care and education for those aged 13 – 18 years. We need new Trustees with the ambition and commitment to help us define and shape that future direction of Seamab. New Trustees can support us to build upon the exceptional contribution our team has already made to the lives of vulnerable children in Scotland.
I hope that you might wish to join us.
