Head of Delivery - Education & Examinations

Welcome to The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh

Founded in 1505, our college has been driving innovation in medicine for five centuries – making it better for patients across the globe.

With over 30,000 members worldwide, our vision is to be the most welcoming, inclusive and innovative royal medical college in the world.

As a charitable membership organisation, we pride ourselves in providing high-quality education, training and professional standards to our family of members.

So, what would working here look like for you? You would be joining a close-knit group of around 200 professionals working together to develop the careers of our members and support the surgical and dental professions they represent. Daily interactions with our Council members and extensive volunteer community enhance the diversity of relationships that you will encounter in this role.

Our headquarters are in Edinburgh, in our Playfair designed Surgeons Hall, but we also have offices in Birmingham and Kuala Lumpa.

We launched our new strategy in 2023 and are growing the team to support our stretching ambitions for growth and engagement. We have created a nurturing environment for our people backed by a new set of values developed by our staff and the launch or our 3-year Wellness Strategy.

We offer hybrid working and other flexible working arrangements. Staff can take 42 days holidays, including flexible public holidays. We invest in our staff and provide benefits such as Rewards Gateway discounts package and a Personal Health Care Cash Plan to help with everyday expenses.

We have undergone a business transformation to improve the customer journey and how we do business. We have embraced technology to deliver education and news materials in an accessible app format and wish to capitalise further on technology to engage and grow.

This is an exciting time to join our college, where a period of change brings you an opportunity to make your mark on this vital charity.

You can make a real difference to our members and our mission through your professional skills, your people skills and your passion for making a difference. This is a brilliant time to join us – I hope you will consider this exciting opportunity on our Aspen People microsite.
