Museums Galleries Scotland

Welcome

Thank you for your interest in the position of Head of Workforce and Resilience with Museums Galleries Scotland (MGS).

Museums and galleries are vibrant threads in the fabric of Scottish society. They connect the people of Scotland to their communities, their environment, and their place in the world.

With their unique and varied collections, museums and galleries are an integral part of Scotland’s cultural sector. Investment in the museum sector strengthens our culture, encourages a thriving tourist industry, and enriches lives by contributing to our collective wellbeing, education, and sense of identity.

As Head of Workforce and Resilience with Museums Galleries Scotland, the sector’s national development body, you will have a highly rewarding opportunity to collaboratively lead our work with the sector to meet the ambitions of a new strategy.

Working at an executive level, this strategic role offers fantastic variety as you lead multiple teams to deliver across the strategy’s Resilience and Workforce strands with a portfolio that includes Climate Action, Diversity and Fair Work. Leading the delivery of MGS’s central business operations such as finance and HR means you will have a dual organisational and sector facing outlook.

This role will be particularly attractive to those with a desire to drive activity, influence and use personal strengths as we continue to evolve our organisational culture, identify, and embed our values across all aspects of our work. You will be instrumental in leading our work to meet the changing needs of the sector, explore new opportunities and create positive partnerships.

MGS has a highly talented, passionate, and skilled team supporting our staff and the development of the sector.  Thank you for your interest in the role at this exciting time, and we look forward to considering your application.
