A very warm welcome and thank you for your interest in the role of Vice Principal Finance, Strategy and Sustainability.

This is an exciting time to join our college as we embark on the next phase of transformation to support the delivery of our strategy – Ambition 2025. This is a significant role within the Executive Leadership Team, and you will be joining a relatively new team that are passionate about the opportunities we can provide to our students and for our partners as we continue to create real impact for the local economy.   The college sector faces a number of challenges but also significant opportunities to improve how we operate. We are excited about our future and our strategy clearly maps out ambition to build on our success and places students and staff firmly at the heart of everything we do.

As Principal and Chief Executive, I am focussed on leading the organisation to ensure we are doing the right things in the best way possible.  This includes positioning us to make the most of the opportunities with new and existing partners, leading, and driving a programme of continuous improvement and a culture where we value and empower our people, to achieve the best outcomes for our students, staff and wider stakeholders.

We are seeking a strategic thinker; a self-starter who has the ability to work innovatively and take on responsibility for the strategic development and inspirational leadership of all aspects of the estates, finance, governance functions of the College. The successful candidate will lead on our Growth and Innovation and Finance and Performance Strategies that reduce reliance on Scottish Funding Council income and drives up the economic prosperity of the region.

With a relevant professional accountancy qualification and with knowledge and experience of working in a senior financial leadership role in a large, complex, multi-faceted organisation, you will drive a culture of success, quality and ambition that embraces change, opportunity, creativity and challenge to create a college “can do” attitude. We need someone that is both strategically capable yet operationally adept. We value experience but more importantly enthusiasm and an engaging style of leadership.
