Welcome from Holly Child, Communications Manager
Dear Applicant,
Thank you for your interest in the role of Communications Officer with the Independent Living Fund (ILF) Scotland.
With a yearly budget of around £55 million, ILF Scotland is tasked by Scottish Ministers with administering two funds to provide financial support to around 8,000 disabled people in Scotland and Northern Ireland. These funds offer people the opportunity to lead independent lives and fully participate in their local communities.
Now is an exciting time to join ILF Scotland. We are in our 8th year of operation and the numbers of recipients we support year on year continues to grow. The work of the Communications Team is vital to ensuring that we continue to increase our reach so that more disabled people can access life-changing financial support.
The Communications Team is a small, but incredibly busy one that touches every part of the organisation and is at the centre of delivering all of ILF Scotland’s internal and external communication activities to all of our key stakeholders in line with our communications and engagement strategy.
This role is a key and integral part of the team focusing on supporting the delivery of our exciting front facing external public relations, marketing, and campaign activities. You will have the opportunity to collaborate directly with our recipients who are at the heart of co-designing this work.
If you believe that you have the appropriate skills and experience to take this role forward, and a strong desire to make a difference to the lives of disabled people, then I strongly encourage you to apply.
If you want further information about the role, or if you have any questions, please contact Kate Kennedy in the first instance at Aspen People on 0141 212 7555. I am also very happy to have an informal chat about the role if this would be of interest.
Thanks, and good luck with your application.
Yours sincerely,
Holly Child
