Over the last 20 months, the College has embarked on a programme of significant change with the development of our College Strategy 2022-2027 together with our Values and ways of working. As we look to implement our Strategy a further period of substantial organisational development and cultural change lies ahead.

Driving our ability to motivate, develop and deploy our people resources to make an exceptional contribution is key to delivering our strategic ambitions. The successful candidate will play an important leadership role in delivering this change across the College and the Human Resources and Learning Department.

You will be an experienced and professional Human Resources leader with a proven track record in leading and supporting change. You will bring a fresh, forward thinking and collaborative approach to developing and driving high performance and innovative practice in our Human Resources and Learning Department.

You will be a strategic change agent working collaboratively across the College to support the forward planning, development and performance of our College workforce. You will help create a more flexible organisation supporting our workforce and making staff engagement and wellbeing a reality.

Reporting to the Director of Resources you will be the College’s professional lead for human resources, learning, people and organisational development advising senior leaders, managers and Council on all relevant people issues.

You will be a key member of the Resources Directorate leadership team which comprises Human Resources & Learning, Finance (including planning, governance and risk), Information Infrastructure and Support Services, Applications and Online Services.

You will be educated to a minimum of degree level and will hold at least a chartered membership with the C.I.P.D (MCIPD or FCIPD). A postgraduate management qualification is desirable.

You will also have demonstrable experience of taking a values-based leadership approach, influencing high level decision making, and leading and managing complex change processes at senior levels. Leading and enhancing the quality and support of learning and development made available to our colleagues is also key to this role.

As a resilient individual, you will also be able to evidence critical and strategic thinking, willingness to challenge the norm and take difficult decisions.
