About Argyll College

Since our first learning centres opened in 2000, Argyll College UHI has grown rapidly, now fulfilling the needs of more than 1600 students across a network of 10 learning centres throughout Argyll and Bute, from Helensburgh in the east to Islay and Mull in the west.

Argyll College UHI is one of the 12 partner institutions of the University of the Highlands and Islands, and we are Argyll’s largest provider of further and higher education. We work closely with the region’s schools, giving pupils access to college courses as an integral part of their school curriculum. We also provide a range of certified training and professional development opportunities for local businesses.

At Argyll College we offer high quality innovative educational opportunities, working closely with local employers to support the Argyll economy and enhancing the quality of life for the communities we serve.

We have been pioneering the use of digital and online technologies since 1999 to reach remote and rural communities across the region, operating across ten learning centres in the towns of Campbeltown, Dunoon, Lochgilphead (including our purpose-built Construction, Engineering and Renewables Centre), Oban and Helensburgh, and on the islands of Arran, Bute, Islay and Mull.

Due to our scattered geography, much of our teaching provision uses Video Conference (VC) technology and each learning centre is equipped with computers, high-speed internet access, VC facilities and student study areas.

As a partner of the University of the Highlands and Islands we also give you access to over 50 degree and post-graduate programmes.
